  • Overview

    Summary:  The Software Configuration Developer is an Information Technology department resource who will assist in the translation of business requirements and functional specifications into software solutions and the development, configuration, or modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various environments. This includes responsibility for assisting in the implementation and maintenance of business software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications. This role is critical to supporting systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) and participates in all software development lifecycle phases.  This role is also responsible for unit testing configurations and integrations.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Assists in translating business requirements and functional specifications into configurations and software solutions with guidance from senior colleagues by providing insight into recommendations for technical solutions that meet design and functional needs
    • Supports the development, configuration, or modification of integrated business and/or enterprise application solutions within various environments by designing and configuring component-based applications using various programming languages and configuration tools; adhering to an Agile/Scrum software development methodology
    • Assists in the implementation and maintenance of business software solutions to ensure successful deployment of released applications with guidance from senior colleagues as appropriate by assists in the packaging solutions for deployment
    • Supports systems integration testing (SIT) and user acceptance testing (UAT) with guidance from senior colleagues by providing insight to testing teams in order to define test plans
    • Participates in all software development lifecycle phases by applying an understanding of company methodology, policies, standards, and internal and external controls
    • Creates business architecture documentation based on development configuration and software solutions provided

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree required, preference in Information Technology/Computer Science
    • 3+ years of experience developing and configuring business systems within an organization
    • 3+ years of experience working with defect or incident tracking software (e.g., JIRA, Remedy) and experience with application and integration middleware
    • 2+ years of experience writing technical documentation in a software development environment
    • 3+ years of experience with third party Software implementation
